In Ontario, certified translators are generally members of ATIO (Association of Translators and Interpreters of Ontario), the body that grants the certified translator title. Many provincial agencies, courts and professional orders ask for a translation bearing that certification.

Apostille in Ontario

Ontario is one of the provinces that issues apostilles for its own public documents, through Ontario Official Documents Services. Federal documents, such as RCMP record checks, go to Global Affairs Canada instead.
